The Islanders locked up Josh Bailey to a two-year deal worth $2.1 million.
Reports of a deal being completed started to surface late last night from ESPN’s Katie Strang and Newsday’s Arthur Staple. The deal wasn’t made official until early this morning. A deadline of 7 a.m. today was set for Bailey to have a new contract signed or he would not have played this season in the NHL.
Last season Bailey scored 11 goals and recorded 17 assists for 28 points in 70 games. He also played 11 games in the AHL for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers during the course of last season.
