The New York Islanders continue their road trip tonight when they are in Raleigh to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
This is the third of four meetings between these two teams and Carolina has won both meetings this year.
The Islanders lost the most recent meeting between these two teams 4-2 on Long Island and Carolina blasted the Isles in the first meeting of these two teams, winning 7-2 in Raleigh. Eric Staal recorded the game winning goal in both games.
Carolina hopes the success against New York continues tonight as they chase down the New York Rangers and the Buffalo Sabres for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Islanders, who have nine fewer points than the Hurricanes, hope to continue their late season success and hand Carolina a hard loss late in the season.
Puck drops at 7pm.
Montreal takes on the aforementioned Rangers tonight in a game directly affecting the Hurricanes.
