It feels like forever since the last time I blogged, but I am back. Here are some links and stories to chew on.
-The Times and Transcript had a nice write up on PA Parenteau’s road to the NHL and his successful season with the New York Islanders. Worth the read. (Times and Transcript)
-Dee Karl was at last nights Islanders player signing over at the team store in Massapequa. She recapped the event, which I sadly could not attend, with pictures, video and of course her excellent narrative. (Hockeybuzz)
-Isles beat writer Katie Strang reported yesterday that Garth Snow will be open to any and all possibilities during the draft, including trading for an NHL ready talent. As consistent with prior years Snow did not identify who the Islanders are targeting, “Snow said his team of scouts will identify their top targets; the list will not be finalized until right before the draft.” (Newsday)
-Kevin Poulin tweeted yesterday that he had arrived in New York to begin skating for the first time since being sidelined by injury. (Twitter)
-Finally, not really an Islanders story but still worth noting. Our friend Kevin Delury over at the New York Rangers Blog ran logo contest to commemorate the late Derek Boogaard. Today after weeks of voting the winning log o design was selected. The design will go on shirts which will be sold with all the profits going to the charity, Defending the Blue Line. (The New York Rangers Blog)
Sidenote- with the NHL Entry Draft only a little over a week away, look for our draft profiles of the players the Islanders could potentially take with the 5th pick in this years draft.
