The Islanders will host the Rangers for the final time tonight at Nassau Coliseum, with the Rangers looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. Atlanta and Boston helped the Rangers out last night as both teams lost their respective games keeping the Rangers with four points of out the eight spot in the East.
The Rangers will be without Ryan Callahan and NHL pest, Sean Avery, along with them in the press box will be Matt Gilroy, who is a healthy scratch for tonight's game. On the Flip side the Isles will get back up and coming defenseman, Andrew MacDonald, who was projected to be out four to six weeks with a broken foot.
In net for the Islanders will be Dwayne Roloson, who is 3-2 verse the Rangers this season and 1-1 on home ice verse them.
Scott Gordon believes that a win tonight would keep the long shot Islanders very much in the playoff race. "If we win tonight, we're six points out of the last playoff spot. It's a long shot, but we're still alive in the playoff race," Scott Gordon Told Islanders Point Blank. Seeing as how inconsistent the four teams ahead of the Islanders are right now I don't whether to pray for a miracle or hoping for a top draft pick.
Stan Fishler and Chico Resh at Book Review for hockey Q & A Thursday
Stan Fischler aka MSG's "Hockey Maven" and former Islanders goalie, Glenn "Chico" Resch , will be at Book Review in Huntington village this Thursday night. Out promoting their new book, Who's Better: Rangers, Devils, Islanders, or the Flyers, Stan and Chico will be holding a Q & A session talking about their book and hockey in general followed by them signing copies of their books (but only if you purchased it at Book Review). The event begins at 7pm and is free and open to the public. Definitely worth going to if you have some free time on Thursday and the book is a good read for any hockey fan.
