The Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks have walked away from the $2.75 million arbitration reward for Antti Niemi, making him a free agent. To fill in for him, Chicago has signed veteran Marty Turco to a one year deal between $1-$1.5 million. This is another name on the long list of key players to leave Chicago, whether by free agency or trade. The Hawks, while still having key components like Toews, Hossa, Kane, Keith and Seabrook, face a difficult challenge in repeating as champions after cutting ties with so many players this offseason.
